 Haiti

General medical teams are needed from churches interested in serving Haiti for ongoing partnership to serve in clinics and other health facilities in and outside of Port-au-Prince. Medical Teams International is partnering with a number of Christian clinics, churches and non-faith based organizations. Starting in September 2010, we need one team a month. Volunteers needed: Each team should include a combination of Doctors, Nurses, EMTs, Pediatricians, PTs and other specialties. Teams can be from 5-10 people, and can include 2-3 non medical volunteers in a care and support role.

Dates: From September 2010 to June 2011 (1 – 3 weeks trips) Projected cost: $1000 - $1800

URGENT NEED - Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Certified Prosthetics/orthotics,

Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant’s, and Physical Therapist Assistant’s are needed to

work with our Advantage Program in Les Cayes, Haiti. The volunteers will train on management of the amputated limb to prepare the limb for prosthesis, make braces and artificial limbs, and provide rehabilitation training recipients to use their device, making adjustments as needed.
Dates: 2 weeks or longer, flexible timing
Needed: PT’s, OT’s, COTA’s, CPO’s, PTA’s
